Choju-Giga Charm
SHINKO STUDIO's Charm Series is born from this Japanese tradition by adding contemporary taste to long beloved, humor-filled motifs. Each piece is created with craftsmanship that has been handed down from the Edo Period.
Choju-giga is sometimes credited as "Japanese oldest manga." Take a close look at those animals rendered in simple lines of Japanese sumi ink, and you'll find something similar to early Disney characters.
They are filled with the universal "playful attitude" that was as appealing back in Edo as it still is to us. These charms include such comical figures as an Upside-down Rabbit, a Sumo-wrestling Frog, the Drunken Fox and a Dragon with a Tangled Tale and a chubby Kirin (a fanciful animal).
