"I am so delighted when a piece of our original jewelry is sold and I think of the joy of the workmen in making it. On the other hand, I feel sad at losing one of my children. That's why it is so important to me that each buyer cherishes our jewelry.
Once most of jewelry designed in Japan was influenced by western style. Ms. Yonei's passion for Japanese-style jewelry was sparkled by an order from a client. The client asked Ms. Yonei to remodel her rings into a pendant and ring for her daughter living in the U.S. She wanted to send her daughter something with a special Japanese identity.
Later, "WA" (Japanese style) became a key concept for SHINKO STUDIO. As a result, Ms. Yonei has met many of the great Japanese master craftsmen. Actually, it was more a process of rediscovering them because the masters had been in hiding and didn't use their techniques while western style designs were the mainstream. The jeweler, designers, metal masters and engravers worked together, and a new line of "WA" jewelry was born.
The "children" born at SHINKO STUDIO will keep their brightness for hundreds of years just like the masterpieces made by ancient master craftsmen.
